Well, it’s coming. Like a runaway train, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is barreling towards us like an unstoppable force. DC fans hold out hope. Casual observers are curious. People with deep knowledge of Warner Bros and how they roll with DC properties can’t quite believe anyone would ever pull this off.

On the sidelines, a lot of internet movie fans prepare to point and laugh while secretly, deep down, hope it’s good. Meanwhile, somewhere in Hollywood, Joss Whedon writes another apology letter.

Just days ahead of this almost surreal movie event, HBO Max has released a new trailer. Not a character-based teaser but a real, by God trailer. He has also continued his one-man marketing blitz in an interview with The New York Times.

Over the last couple of days, the usual internet suspects have breathlessly been reporting news from “Insider (insert name here)” that this movie will get a sequel and Snyder is already planning for it with Warner Bros. Well, no! The batting average of these insiders remains in the realms of single figures and guesswork, as Snyder himself says that is just not true.

Not only is there no sequel coming, but this is not even canon and he won’t be returning to DC. He’s done. The Flash will follow Whedon’s Justice League and not this.

“I added it [the sequel stinger] because this was going to be the last movie I make for the DCU, and to have this entire cinematic universe without Batman and Joker meeting up just felt weird… The ask was for my version of the movie.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League arrives on the HBO Max imminently. March 18th is the day. And then, we will see. Here’s our final look before the big day:
