The ever reliable Dark Horizons are reporting this morning that Disney+ and Lucasfilm are nailing down their first cast members for the TV sequel to Willow.
Erin Kellyman from Solo: A Star Wars Story will be joined by Cailee Spaeny from The Craft: Legacy and Ellie Bamber from Nocturnal Animals will all join the cast.
The project locked a deal last month and Warwick Davis will return as Willow Ufgood. The show will take place years after the events of the 1988 movie. No news yet on which characters these three actresses will play.
In the movie Willow Ufgood is a farmer who is reluctantly enrolled in an adventure to protect a child from an evil queen (Jean Marsh). Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, Billy Barty and Kevin Pollak co-starred under Ron Howards direction.
Jon M. Chu will direct the pilot and executive produce while Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle will serve as showrunners. Howard himself will executive produce alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and The Mandalorian’s Michelle Rejwan.
