The movie Willow was not a smash hit. It turned a profit, but had mixed reviews and fell short of box office expectations. It did find a sizeable audience on home video. The audience was there for a Disney+ revival, but they didn’t turn out. So it has been cancelled after just one season.

Willow

Why didn’t the audience turn out? Maybe our zero-star review of episode one will jog your memory. Its potential audience was there. The show just seemed determined to do everything within its power to fail to connect with them. Also… “modern audiences”.

Come on Disney, it’s a 25-year-old fantasy movie. Use your heads.

Still. It is too late now. Willow is no more. The show only concluded its run two months ago.

Warwick Davis, Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Amar Chadha-Patel, and Tony Revolori made up the main cast. Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle served as co-showrunners. It got mostly positive reviews, but audiences stayed away after the first episodes and it never broke into the Nielsen top 10 rankings of streaming titles.

Disney is wielding the axe as it cuts sky-high production costs. Get the eyeballs, or it is game over. Big Shot and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers have also been canned lately.

Anyone got the figures for Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk?
