In true Hollywood fashion there is another reboot on the way. This time of the 1992 sports comedy White Men Can’t Jump which originally starring Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.
This isn’t the bad news though. It’s going to star Jack Harlow. Now, if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably be wondering who Jack Harlow is? I had to search for him as I’ve never heard of him before. I found this:
Honestly, that looks like a parody song by someone. Alas no, that’s actually him and one of his hit songs. I love how you can hear the auto-tune working away over the lyrics.
According to reports, Harlow’s audition for the movie was “nothing but net” and on his first ever try. I can only imagine who they might have rejected! The new movie is being directed by Calmatic who, again, I had to look up. He is mostly known for doing music videos like the one above.
Calmatic has also just finished directing a reboot of the 90s movie House Party which originally starred Kid ‘n’ Play. House Party is due out on 28th July this year and we can all wait with bated breath until then.
In this new reboot of White Men Can’t Jump, Harlow will be playing Harrelson’s character, with no news yet who will replace Snipes.
The film follows two street basketball hustlers as they join forces to double their chances of winning money on street courts and in tournaments. I haven’t seen the original in many years, but I do remember liking it.
There is no news on when the new reboot of White Men Can’t Jump will be out, but it’s OK since House Party will be out in the meantime to tide us all over.
