HBO has released a new trailer for the miniseries We Own This City which sees David Simon returns to Baltimore with Jon Bernthal.
Written by The Wire’s Simon, We Own This City marks his first series set in Baltimore since The Wire ended in 2008. The show is based on the book A True Story Of Crime, Cops And Corruption by investigative journalist Justin Fenton.
The six-episode miniseries will follow the Gun Trace Task Force scandal that shocked Baltimore and the rest of the country in 2017 and is developed by George Pelecanos and Simon.
The series also focuses on the FBI investigation that ultimately led to the group’s downfall.
While some members of the task force willingly participated in the group’s illegal activities, the show profiles how more reluctant members got sucked in, as well as how they worked to cooperate with the federal investigation.
