The Nun of Shame, Septa Unella herself, is making the jump from Westeros via Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond football club to Mission: Impossible. Hannah Waddingham has been confirmed in the cast of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2. Or Mission: Impossible 8, for simplicity.

Waddingham

This summer is the beginning of the end of Mission: Impossible as Tom Cruise runs out of things to jump off, and studios realise they are simply paying for his extreme sports addiction. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two will serve as franchise closers, and there is little doubt they will be going out with a bang.

Waddingham was confirmed in an as-yet unknown role via writer/director Christopher McQuarrie’s Instagram:

Mission-Impossible

It was in the industry press the other day that Cruise and the production were filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two on a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Adriatic Sea, which Cruise reached by helicopter from the Italian port city of Bari.

The head of the Apulia Film Commission, Antonio Parente, confirmed that Cruise flew into Bari, and spent one night in Bari’s 5-star Hotel Delle Nazioni, before a private helicopter flight from the Bari airport took him out to the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush to shoot some scenes.

The photo McQuarrie released shows Waddingham in front of what looks like an aircraft carrier superstructure and wearing what could be a flight jacket, and squadron cap. Squadron leader? Wing commander? CAG?

Mission-Impossible

Either way, it looks like an aircraft carrier may be involved in ruining a bad guys day at some point in the franchise capper.

I wonder if Ethan and his team will be disavowed?
