Tom Hardy is back playing Venom for the third time as Sony has just green-lit Venom 3.
The first movie turned over approximately $850 million worldwide, and the second one, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, made a $1.3 bill. You can see why Sony would like another one.
The director has been announced as Kelly Marcel, who is new to directing, but better known for writing movies like Saving Mr Banks, Fifty Shades of Grey, Cruella, and the first two Venom movies.
Even though she is a first-time director, she has said to have a good working relationship with Hardy and they have a good set of ideas on where the third movie could go.
Marcel will be the third director for the third movie, with the first two installments helmed by Ruben Fleischer and then Andy Serkis.
Nothing is known about the story, but at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, there was an end-credit scene showing Spiderman. Does this mean that Tom Holland will be back as Spidey and battle with Venom?
There is no schedule as yet for when Venom 3 will be out, but we’ll keep you posted.
