Movie Will Be Released This Summer

Solstice Studios shared an official trailer for new movie Unhinged, starring Russell Crowe playing a dude chasing down a woman following a bout of road rage.

Unhinged follows Rachel (Caren Pistorius) who is running late to work when she has an altercation at a traffic light with a stranger (Crowe). Soon, Rachel finds herself and everyone she loves the target of a man who decides to teach her a violent lesson or two.

The official synopsis reads –

Unhinged is a timely psychological thriller that explores the fragile balance of a society pushed to the edge, taking something we’ve all experienced – road rage – to an unpredictable and terrifying conclusion.”

On Tuesday, Solstice Studios made the surprise announcement that the movie has shifted its theatrical release date up to July 1st from September, meaning this could be the first new film to hit theaters since they closed due to the pandemic.

Speaking about the new release date, Solstice president-CEO Mark Gill said –

“We are the canary in the coal mine, no doubt about it,”

“I so believe in the theatrical experience. It is an important part of our culture. This is something that America does better than anybody in the world.”

Until now, the first major studio film scheduled for release was Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on July 17th, followed by Disney’s live-action Mulan on July 24th.

Unhinged is set to be released on July 1st.
