HBO has released an official trailer for an upcoming documentary film titled Tony Hawk: Until The Wheels Fall Off.
Hawk, born in San Diego, California, is a pioneer of modern vertical skating and one of the most influential skateboarders of all time.
At the age of 31, the skateboarder made a name for himself in the industry after completing one of the most technically demanding tricks in skateboarding, the 900, in 1999. This feat led to mass recognition and is credited with bringing skateboarding into the mainstream.
The Wheels Fall Off covers his personal life, career and relationship with skateboarding – features unprecedented access, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with Hawk, and prominent figures in the sport including Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi.

“A wide-ranging, definitive look at Hawk’s life and iconic career, and his relationship with the sport with which he’s been synonymous for decades. Including never-before-seen footage and unprecedented access to Hawk, along with interviews with figures from the skateboarding world.”
As for other aesthetics expected of the doc, the visuals will be complemented with tracks mimicking the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, featuring classic and iconic artists such as The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Echo and The Bunnymen, Joy Division, Pavement, The Replacements, XTC, and New Order.
Tony Hawk: Until The Wheels Fall Off will premiere on HBO and HBO Max this coming April.
