So, this is my first official article for Last Movie Outpost, and what better way to start it off than with a trailer for a new film called Nope, an upcoming American horror film written, directed, and produced by Jordan Peele.
This appears to be a film about an alien invasion but you never know with Peele. He seems to be the new M. Night Shyamalan who was the new Alfred Hitchcock. I’m a sucker for alien invasion movies and to be honest, the state the world is in right now, I’d actually welcome a real one.
Anyway, it stars Daniel Kaluuya from Get Out. His eyes always look sore as if he’s just got home from being on an all-nighter of booze and lines. It also stars someone called Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead).
A teaser poster was released way back in July 2021 and not much has been heard about it since. Well, that all changed when the trailer dropped unexpectedly during something called the Super Bowl and it caught a lot of people completely off guard.
No one seems to know too much about this film and I like that. So many trailers show too much and give away a lot of details that the audience would be better off not knowing beforehand.
All I can say is has Peele’s signature ominous look of foreboding doom and horror. No doubt there will be a twist that will either leave audiences with a satisfying end like Get Out or sitting there scratching their heads at the absurdity, as we were with Us.
Nope is out on 22nd July and hopefully we don’t learn much more about it until then. Check it out Outposters!
