“Get Your Ass To Mars”
StudioCanal gave us some great news this week by announcing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1990 movie Total Recall is getting a 4K release.
Based on a story by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall follows Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger), an average Joe. Longing for some excitement, Doug goes to Rekall, a company that implants false memories. When something goes wrong, Doug finds himself in the midst of a plot involving spies, intrigue, and mutants on Mars.

Discussing the restoration, director Paul Verhoeven said –
“I just saw the 4K presentation of my movie and it’s absolutely wonderful what StudioCanal and the restoration team have done. There is so much detail you could say it is three-dimensional.”
“Bravo! I hope many people go and see the movie.”
In celebration of the film’s 30th Anniversary, the film will premiere theatrically in France on September 16th followed by the US, where Fathom Events and Rialto Pictures are partnering with StudioCanal to bring the restored classic back to cinemas this fall.
Fathom’s screenings will also feature an exclusive introduction from Paul Verhoeven.
StudioCanal will also launch a series of new home entertainment editions in France, the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand later this year. Additionally, Lionsgate will release the Total Recall 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack and Steelbook in the US on December 8th.
