As well as being the star of the show, Cruise is also the producer of the Mission: Impossible movies. So he doesn’t just get to show up and act. He has to make things happen behind the scenes via his Cruise/Wagner production company.

After numerous delays and cancelled location shoots due to Coronavirus he has taken an extraordinary step to keep the show on the road. According to reports he has hired an entire cruise ship in Norway to house the cast and crew to keep them isolated from the general public. The cost to him? A cool $700,000.

The Hurtigruten ship will be docked near the location in Norway and everyone staying onboard will undergo daily testing to catch any cases of infection before they can spread.

Shooting for the movie continues with Cruise recently showing off his lack of B-game and general disdain for ever phoning it in by riding a motorcycle off a ramp 500 feet in the air.

Christopher McQuarrie is shooting part seven and eight back-to-back and they are linked as a two-parter. This will apparently serve as the final part of the adventures of Ethan Hunt with his character, and possibly the franchise, to bow out after these movies.

Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Nicolas Hoult, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham are in the seventh. No word on who will make it through to the eighth movie. They are scheduled for November 19th 2021 and November 4th 2022.
