Tom Cruise turned 60 this week, but to look at him you wouldn’t have thought it. If I was to guess, I would say he’s a vampire as he hasn’t aged a bit in the past 30 years.
Director of Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1, Christopher McQuarrie, sent his birthday wishes to Tom in the form of a behind the scenes photo of Cruise doing a stunt for the new movie.

It shows Cruise hanging on to a crop duster plane while it’s doing aerial acrobatics. I’m only 47 and I get dizzy going up some stairs, let alone doing that.
At 60 Cruise is one of the genuine “last action heroes”. It is very cool, in this day and age of computers and green screen, to see an actor doing practical stunts. It really gives the impression of danger and it much more impressive when you can see it is actually them doing it.
Cruise is being described as the “American Jackie Chan”. Chan is famous for doing his own stunts and nearly killing himself several times in the process. When you watch a Chan movie though, you know it’s him doing all the work and it always looks so much better.
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 isn’t due out until July 2023, so we will have to wait until then to see the finished stunts from the movie.
