COWABUNGA DUDES – the turtles are back in the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, from “permanent teenager”… Seth Rogen. Urgh!

Anyway, this latest version of the TMNT has clearly taken inspiration from 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and it doesn’t actually look too bad considering Seth Rogen is attached.

The Synopsis

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

The Cast

There’s a pretty impressive voice cast attached which includes Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon in the roles of Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael, respectively.

Jackie Chan is Master Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil (yeah, race swapped), Rogen as Bebop, John Cena as Rocksteady, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

I wonder how long into the film we get before Rogen’s character mentions weed?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hits theatres on the 4th of August this year. Check it out!
