Detective Frank Drebin to return in a new guise? Apparently talks are happening. That new guise? None other than Liam Neeson. He’s out doing the rounds for The Marksman and talk turned to some future projects when Neeson let the details slip that The Naked Gun may return.

Plans for another sequel were put on ice following the passing of Leslie Nielsen. Now Seth MacFarlane is involved and has turned to his Ted 2 and A Million Ways To Die In The West star as a potential lead.
In an interview with People Magazine Neeson said the movie would:

“…either finish my career or bring it in another direction. I honestly don’t know”.

Neeson has also had cameos in Family Guy and The Orville. MacFarlane has spoken about Neeson in comedy before, saying he is:

“…so good at playing against the comedy and therefore he’s hilarious. He just really knows what he’s doing.”

The Naked Gun was a series of American crime comedy films, created by Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker (ZAZ). All three movies were based on their earlier television series Police Squad!, which was unbelievably cancelled after just six episodes.
