We reported last week of a Grinch movie called The Mean One, but this time, instead of a family-friendly movie for kids, it’s a horror parody grown up kids, like me. Well here is the trailer.

Doesn’t it look terrible? In that B-Movie type of way, which means I’m totally onboard for it. The story is:

“In a sleepy mountain town, Cindy has her parents murdered and her Christmas stolen by a blood thirsty green figure in a red Santa suit – The Mean One. But when the ravenous, Christmas hating creature begins to terrorize the town and threatens to ruin the holiday, she finds a new purpose – trapping and killing the monster.”

It seems everyone is very careful not to mention the word Grinch, this is not a Grinch, it isn’t based on the Grinch, this is The Mean One. It’s probably directed by Señor Spielbergo.

The Mean One is in fact directed by Steven LaMorte and written by Finn and Flup Kobler. It stars David Howard Thornton, Krystle Martin, Chase Mullins, Amy Schumacher, and Christopher Sanders. It is being released by XYZ Films, which have said this about it:

“As a passionate fan of seasonal horror (and the TERRIFIER franchise), The Mean One is exactly the kind of film that lands on my personal ‘nice list.’ This movie is a stunningly great time with a ferociously subversive turn from David Howard Thornton, and XYZ Films is so proud to be bringing this soon-to-be iconic Christmas slasher to audiences this holiday season.”

I’m planning an article on Terrifier 1 & 2, which are both stupidly good fun for fans of the B-Movie slasher movie.

The Mean One is out 9th December.
