Outposters may be a cynical and twisted bunch who find it hard to care too much about Star Wars anymore, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the world has our elite-level bitterness and world class snark. Many people must be excited enough to consume mnew product, as the trailer for the third season The Mandalorian pulled in a record 83.5 million views in just 24 hours online.

This puts it at the top of the rankings for any trailer debut for a Disney+ Star Wars series.

Also, the kind of people who watch these things over and over and over have noticed a small difference in the US online version. The incredibly focussed fans over at Star Wars Holocron (via the ever-reliable Dark Horizons) have spotted that the date card on the TV version has been replaced online with a shot of some beat up old Star Destroyers in some kind of shipyard.

Already it is speculated that this is Coruscant and not the famed starship manufacturing planet of Corellia.

According to the media kit:

“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”

Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito will all feature as Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard take turns to direct.

Jon Favreau remains as showrunner and executive producer alongside co-pilot Dave Filoni. The third season of The Mandalorian debuts on March 1st.
