Being a lifelong Star Wars fan has been a rough gig. Disney, and certain executives, have been doing what they can to ruin the franchise. Then you have things like The Mandalorian.
It’s made by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, two people who love and respect Star Wars, and it really shows in The Mandolorian. In fact the end of season 2, was probably the best thing Star Wars that Disney has produced so far, by a long shot. Season 3 now has a trailer online.
It seems more like a teaser than a trailer, but there is much in there. The official blurb is:
“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito.
The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.”
Again, not giving much away, but I can’t wait to see where The Mandalorian season 3 goes and it’s good to see some familiar names back in the cast and directing.
The most promising thing about this series is that Kathleen Kennedy is not allowed anywhere near it. It’s just Jon and Dave giving the fans what they want. Producer Pascal has said that season 3 is:
“…even better than the previous one. It’s safe to say that you’re going to love it.“
The Mandalorian series 3 will be streaming on 1st March.
