The Mandalorian seems to have been with us for such a long time that it seems almost incredible that season three is only just about to start. It returns this Wednesday, March 1st on Disney+.
Publicity is now in full swing, with Pedro Pascal turning up on various chatshow couches worldwide, and new images and clips making their way out into the world. Part of the publicity push is a new TV spot that, at 45-seconds long, is quite hefty for a TV spot.
The spot features plenty of Star Wars action, including a chase with multiple TIE Interceptors, and a glimpse of many more Mandalorians. The series will see Din Djarin attempt to atone for the blasphemy of removing his mask, and reclaiming his Mandalorian identity.
Giancarlo Esposito returns as Moff Gideon, along with Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan. Other returnees include Omid Abtahi, Emily Swallow, and Amy Sedaris. Still no Gina Carano as Cara Dune after she was cancelled for wrongthink by her fellow women.
Newcomers this season are Christopher Lloyd and Tim Meadows. Star Wars: Ahsoka and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew are also due out this year, so look for potential Easter eggs when The Mandalorian airs.
Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, and Bryce Dallas Howard return to direct episodes in the run. Lee Isaac Chung (Minari), Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), and Rachel Morrison (Black Panther cinematographer) round out the roster.
