With Andor having divided our commentators right down the middle, normal pew-pew space ‘splosion business can be resumed early next year. Boba Phil will be happy. The Mandalorian season 3 has locked its release date on Disney+.
After a pretty epic conclusion to season 2 that seemed to bring a key arc to a close in a really satisfying way, Star Wars recent ability to shoot itself in the foot reared its head once again. A really curious decision was taken to devote an entire episode of The Book Of Boba Fett to the Mando character and completely reverse most of that conclusion. It was all very weird.
Still, we are where we are, and we know this season will deal with the fall of Mandalore and, from the trailers, it does look to contain lots of epic scenes.
The streamer announced that the new run of The Mandalorian will commence March 1st on Disney+. This was all revealed at the same Lucasfilm panel at Brazil’s CCXP convention that revealed the Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny trailer that has caused such a flap.
Pedro Pascal took part in that panel alongside showrunner Jon Favreau, who said that the new season is bigger in scope than previous seasons, with more space battles and more Mandalorians.
Din Djarin and Grogu are heading to the planet Mandalore to restore Djarin’s honor for removing his helmet. Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Katee Sackhoff are all confirmed to be returning in the third season, whilst Christopher Lloyd is also confirmed to make a cameo.
