Showtime has dropped an official trailer for their series adaptation of The Man Who Fell to Earth. The novel by Walter Tevis was famously adapted once before in 1976 in a version that starred David Bowie. In this version, things are slightly tweaked:
“A new alien character named Faraday (Chiwetel Ejiofor) arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.”
007 alum Naomie Harris (Rampage, 28 Days Later) will play Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer who must conquer her own demons in the race to save two worlds.
Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Kate Mulgrew, and Clarke Peters star with Bill Nighy in the original Bowie role of Thomas Jerome Newton, the character from the original and first alien on Earth. He will have to help Faraday on his quest.
Alex Kurtzman, Jenny Lumet, John Hlavin, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Rola Bauer, Francoise Guyonnet, and Ejiofor executive produce.
The first two episodes will be released at the same time on Sunday, April 24th and new episodes will then get released weekly.
