The franchise is based on the comic book series of the same name created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Kingsman: The Secret Service, directed by Vaughn from a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman, was released in February 2015, and a sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, was released in September 2017.
While the other trailers have all been about the origins of the Kingsman organization and the franchise’s continued action, this final push of the marketing train sets its focus on the three main villains of this action-packed war romp.
In The King’s Man, we discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency. This prequel goes back to the days of The Great War to tell the origin story of The King’s Man “spy” agency.

The King’s Man movie is directed by Vaughn from a screenplay by Vaughn and Karl Gajdusek and a story by Vaughn and stars Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.
The King’s Man will be released in theaters on December 22nd.
