Once more the hallowed halls of Last Movie Outpost shall ring with the sound of vigorous debate. Makes a change from something else vigorous. Yes… we all know what you are doing in there! The opinions must flow. The debater must awaken.

While perusing the internet for Gal Gadot gifs on behalf of the most reverend Reverend (honest!), I came across something a movie fan had posted. A net-denizen called @burner398, which I am guessing is not his real name, posted an opinion.

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition) is amazing and is misunderstood by many. It is the best CBM of all time and has the best cinematography, story, acting, and score of its genre. It’s truly a masterpiece. ‘People hate what they don’t understand’ “

This set us thinking here at the Outpost. Not about Batman Vs. Superman, everyone except for EggyWeggs knows that is a terrible movie. Beyond that we started thinking about movies that could be being misunderstood, or misinterpreted by movie goers?

“No amount of added ‘Directors Cut’ shit makes BvS good!”

Is Orca: The Killer Whale not really a boatload of soggy, sub-Jaws bollocks? Is it really a deep and meaningful tale of love and loss and vengeance?

Is David Lynch’s 1984 adaption of Dune really a noble failure with interesting ideas, or is it a bunch of camp stupidity that features Sting stinking up a pair of plastic undercrackers without having the self-awareness of Flash Gordon?

A quarter of a century later, is it at all possible that there are still sentient human being that don’t “get” Starship Troopers?

Get your big debating pants on and tell us, in your opinion, what is the most misunderstood movie of all time?
