The Boys are back this summer on Amazon Prime, with the third season giving a teaser.
You have to love Homelander, we left him, at the end of season 2, on top of a building, umm, pleasuring himself, and quietly saying:
“I can do whatever the f*** I want!”
Quite the way to end a series.
Season 3 will start streaming on 3rd June, with three episodes, and then, as with seasons 2, they will roll out one episode weekly until July. Shame, since most people like to binge these days, but it does mean people keep their Amazon Prime subs up for longer.
The official synopsis from Amazon is:
‘The Boys’ is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought — the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super powerful.
It’s almost the opposite of The Avengers, if you are bored with the MCU, this is just the tonic. Although don’t show it to the kids, it’s certainly not made for them.
Most of the original cast is back, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Anthony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligot, Jessie T Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara and newcomer, Jensen Ackles.
The Boys is based on the best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The series is produced by Amazon Video and Sony Pictures Television. If you haven’t seen the first two series, you should, because they are well done.
I’m up for a binge-watch before season 3 launches on 3rd June on Prime.
