I believe I speak for many of us when I say – what a hangover! Now the world tastes of gin and my head feels like there is a Frenchman living in it. Another year has passed. Speaking of the passage of time, can you believe it is more than 30 years ago that Michael Keaton last appeared as Batman? We all know he’s back in the upcoming The Flash, but it turns out so is one of his wonderful toys. The Batwing is back, baby!
A photo has appeared online and started to spread that shows some merchandise from the upcoming film and it includes the Batwing, last seen in Batman (1989). It is very close in form and design to the original, just slightly modernised.

It was last seen crash landing on the steps of Gotham Cathedral in the climax to the original Burton movie as Batman pursued the Joker and Vicky Vale into the belltower. Si similar, but updated aircraft appeared in Batman Forever. The Christopher Nolan flying craft had more in common with the Batcopter than the Batwing.
Ezra Miller, Ron Livingston, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle and Ben Affleck co-star in The Flash, which is directed by Andy Muschietti. It is currently locked for a June 16th 2023 release after many delays. In a clip from the movie, Keaton’s original Batmobile was seen in the Batcave covered in a tarpaulin, so expect that to make some kind of appearance too.
It is thought to be the finale of the current Snyderverse and will use multiverse shenanigans to bring that chapter of the DCEU to a definitive close. Wonder Woman 3 and Aquaman 3 are not going to happen as James Gunn and Peter Safran start again with a blank sheet of paper.
