“Waugh Waugh!”

Thought we were done with The Batman news? Think again! On the heels of yesterday’s filming report comes some casting news confirming Colin Farrell is playing The Penguin.

The strong rumour of Farrell joining the other cast villains was confirmed yesterday, in his usual style, by Matt Reeves on Twitter –

Reeves’ tweet shows Farrell shrugging his shoulders in a befuddled state, accompanied by a caption reading –

“Wait – is that you, #Oz?”

Who Else Is Cast?

Robert Pattinson is Batman/Bruce Wayne, Andy Serkis is to play Batman’s loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard will feature in an unknown role

New Set Pic

Pre-production on Reeves’s The Batman is currently underway, and it seems fans have their caught a look at the set. An image has revealed what appears to be a cathedral, most likely for a funeral.

Here it is –

Recently, the film was looking for extras for a large funeral scene in the movie, and this image supports that rumor. The Batman has constructed a large cathedral in Cardington for the scene.

Notice the presence of airships outside of the cathedral. Blimps have appeared in various forms of media featuring Batman but were most prominent in Batman: The Animated Series, which our very own Stark reported, will serve as inspiration for the film.

Holy Bats On A Bike!

The Batman will hit theaters on June 25th, 2021.
