“You Could Have Dinner With Us…”

According to Variety, Legendary Pictures has announced a reboot of the 1974 horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with Ryan and Andy Tohill (The Dig) on board to direct.

The directors and writers of Don’t Breathe and Evil Dead, Fede Alvarez and Rodolfo Sayagues, are set to produce the film, with newcomer Chris Thomas Devlin penning the script. Alvarez said in a statement –

‘The Tohill’s vision is exactly what the fans want,”

“It’s violent, exciting and so depraved that it will stay with you forever.”

Tobe Hooper’s 1974 film Texas Chainsaw Massacre centres around a group of friends visiting their grandfather’s grave in Texas, only for them to fall victim to a family of cannibalistic psychopaths, including the iconic villain Leatherface.

It has since become a cult classic and has preceded three sequels along with forgettable retellings like Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013) and Leatherface (2017).

At this time, details regarding the plot of the new reboot, have yet to be revealed.
