Sylvester Stallone is back this week, reprising one of his most famous roles in Rambo: Last Blood.
While speaking in the junket, he revealed some details about the chances of two more of his past roles making a comeback.
“I’m talking with Robert Rodriguez right now about Cobra, which looks like that could happen.”
He added that this would be done as a series rather than a feature film and that he is waiting for Robert Rodriguez to move forward.
In the original movie, unorthodox cop Marion Cobretti tries to protect a witness to a murder carried out by a doomsday cult who hunt her, his then-wife Bridgette Nielsen, across California. Famed for its high body count and some nasty deaths, it was somewhat controversial at the time of release.
Now, about this other role he’s expressed an interest in reprising…
Ray Tango from 1989 buddy-cop action-comedy Tango And Cash.
However, he says it’s not just up to him.
“I know, with Kurt [Russell], it’s not about a caper… it’s just us doing our thing.”
He even suggests Russell unconvincingly told him:
“I don’t know, Sly… There we were in our prime and now we’re in our unprime, I dunno.”
Stallone tried to persuade Russell, who said he’ll get back to Stallone in due course.
So what’s next for the much loved, but at the time, un-fancied cop duo? Time will tell.
News of a Party At Kitty and Studs revival is expected shortly.
