“We’re Friends ‘Til The End, Remember?”

SYFY has confirmed that it’s placed a series order for Don Mancini’s Chucky TV series, and the Child’s Play creator posted the news on Twitter.

Original creator Mancini will serve as writer and showrunner, and direct the first episode. He tweeted –

According to a description from SYFY, the show finds –

“a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies–and allies–from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

Mancini is teaming with David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus), Nick Antosca (Channel Zero), and Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks) to executive produce the extension of the original franchise.

It’s worth noting that this latest chapter in the Child’s Play universe has no connection to the 2019 movie reboot, which saw Mark Hamill voice Chucky.

No premiere date has been announced for Chucky.
