Rumored, but little discussed, it has now been confirmed that Quantic Dream, developers that have a strong reputation for creating immersive experiences rather than just simple video games, are turning their talents to Star Wars. After Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, Quantic has unveiled a trailer for Star Wars: Eclipse.

A reveal trailer for Star Wars: Eclipse was revealed during the Game Awards and it looks beautiful. It is set during the High Republic era, so unfolds several decades before Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the game will apparently be an action-adventure where you can play multiple characters and follow many branches and stories.

That is not the only Star Wars news. Also set in the High republic era, before Episode I, Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give, The Hunger Games) is in talks to join the new Star Wars live-action series The Acolyte for Disney+ service. This is according to Variety.

The show will tell the story of the final days of this High Republic and the re-emergence of dark side powers that will cause the Sith to be reborn. This will start the chain of events that will lead to the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and ultimately everything we know now as Star Wars.

So a prequel to the prequels then?

This will join The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, and Andor as Star Wars-based serials on Disney+.  Lando is also in development. Rangers of the New Republic may still be parked as they figure out what to do without Gina Carano.
