To Boldly Go Nowhere
Paramount announced a number of upcoming projects for their streaming service and beyond and the big one was the long-awaited Star Trek 4 (set in the Kelvin Timeline) is not only in the works but it’s scheduled to be released next year. And the whole cast (minus the late Anton Yelchin) of the starship Enterprise will be returning (see here)!
Well apparently most, if not all of the primary players — who include Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldaña and John Cho — were not even aware that an announcement for another film was coming, much less that they would be touted as a part of the deal, and certainly not that they would be shooting a movie by year’s end.
Captain Kirk Says What!?
Chris Pine was recently asked about these shocking developments and he had this to say:
“I had no idea this was happening. I only found out about it from the chaps at the amazing Last Movie Outpost. EggyWeggs is my favourite contributor, that dude is the best, and so handsome too!”
OK, so I lied a little bit, but telling porkies (which is British slang – Pork Pies = lies) seems to be par for the course in Hollywood these days. You see, the script isn’t finished, it hasn’t been officially greenlit, nor does it have a firm budget!
What A Fiasco
Paramount are clearly desperate for a win. Discovery got pulled from Netflix just before the launch of a fourth season, Picard Season 2 is dead on arrival and Lower Decks is just a tool to destroy everything that was wholesome about Star Trek.
What we have here boys and girls is a game of bluff.
Will Paramount hold the cast to ransom and blame them if this thing never happens, or will the cast hold Paramount to ransom and squeeze every penny out of them for their fee to get this made?
Don’t look to me for answers. Damn it Outposters, I’m a contributor, not a fortune teller!
