When the creator of Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, teams up with the creator of The Sopranos, Terence Winter, then they throw in Sylvester Stallone you can bet your sweet Outposter ass will be in the chair for Tulsa King, at least at the start. It’s like Fantasy Football only with entertainment.
We are a cold, cynical bunch sometimes here at the Outpost. The community, that’s you, who have gathered here have the scars of a lifetime of cinematic and televisual disappointment. So it takes a lot to peak our interest these days. This peaks our interest.
Now Paramount+ has released the official trailer Tulsa King. It marks Sylvester Stallone’s first regular TV role. He plays New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi who took the fall for his bosses and served a 25-year prison sentence.
Upon release and realising his mob family doesn’t have his best interests at heart, he sets up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma and starts to build his own empire.
Andrea Savage, Max Casella, Martin Starr, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany co-star.
Winter writes and serves as showrunner. Tulsa King joins a long slate of work from Sheridan Paramount+ that includes 1883 and Mayor Of Kingstown.
The first two episodes of Tulsa King premiere on November 13th, so something to watch when Cobra Kai is done. All the best TV happens in the winter as the nights draw in.
