From New Jersey to Pandora. Sopranos star Edie Falco can be seen in character for the first time in a new picture released from the production of Avatar 2. The sequel to the eleven year old movie has wrapped principle production and is now deep into post. Work continues on the further sequels.
Falco will play General Ardmore, the new head of RDA activity on Pandora. The RDA is the Resource Development Administration and the occupiers of Pandora.

Other RDA staff will also return, sometimes from beyond the grave. Giovanni Ribisi’s Parker Selfridge is coming back. Matt Gerald returns as Corporal Lyle Wainfleet, as does Stephan Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch despite the fact that both of those two characters died last time out. Sigourney Weaver also returns as Dr Grace Augustine, likewise from beyond the grave.
Sam Worthington returns alongside Zoe Saldana as Jake and Neytiri. Kate Winslet will play Ronal, a free-diver of the Metkayina tribe. Oona Chaplin crosses over from Westeros as the Game Of Thrones star will appear as Varang.
Production was apparently delayed eight times due to Coronavirus. Production continues in New Zealand where keeping an isolated island nation on the edge of the world with no major transport hubs relatively COVID free has, not surprisingly, proved possible.
Avatar 2 will be released in December 2022. So still more than 2 years away.
