Could it finally be happening? Years of letter writing, email campaigns and yet another bloody hashtag could fandom be finally getting their way? Will the fabled Snyder Cut of Justice League now really see the light of day?
According to Jeremy Conrad’s DCEU Mythic apparently deals are being done. However it won’t be a feature presentation in a theatre. It won’t even be on DC Universe for streaming. Apparently it will find a home on HBO Max.
After this the story gets a little murkier. Some day it will be a feature film for the streamer. Others say a work pronto like the version of Blade Runner found on the ultimate 5 disc edition.
No matter the different takes on the format, all the sources agree that something is going to happen. Snyder met with DC executives for a private screening of his cut of Justice League. Even in its unfinished form it was described as “watchable” and estimates of $20m were mentioned to complete the movie.
It is quite clear the cast and crew all think there is something worth saving in there, as many have spoken up or supported Twitter movements around the movie. Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Darkseid actor Ray Porter and cinematographer Fabian Wagne have all had their say.
People who have seen it speak in hushed tones about how it would have been in two parts and expanded the mythology of the DC Extended Universe. Kevin Smith, never shy to wear his Geek heart on his sleeve, said in an interview over a week ago that the movie contained Green Lanterns, Martian Manhunter and Darkseid.
So, after all this time, we may finally get to see it. What happens if it’s actually good?
