“Send A Maniac To Catch A Maniac”
At the weekend, Sylvester Stallone was speaking online with fans and revealed Demolition Man 2 is officially in the works at Warner Bros.
It’s unclear what stage of development the project is at, but considering this is the first we’ve heard of it, it seems fair to assume it will have to wait a while.
I cannot believe this, just Sly Stallone casually announcing that Demolition Man 2 is happening. Holy shit. pic.twitter.com/Dzq1qsdnDg

“Can we get another Demo Man? I think there is another one coming. We’re working on it right now with Warner Bros. It’s looking fantastic. That’s going to happen.”
The original Demolition Man has Stallone’s hard-bitten cop John Spartan being cryogenically frozen in 1996. He’s then defrosted in 2032, the place he wakes up in is a utopian future San Angeles that has left violence behind.
His mission is to apprehend old foe, Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) who has managed to escape from his cryo-chamber prison cell.
Back in September, Sly was waxing lyrical about a team-up with Robert Rodriguez and mentioned their plans to return to the Cobra Universe whilst making some noises about getting back together with Kurt Russell for a sequel to Tango & Cash.
No release date for Demolition Man 2 has been released.
