A TV Show To Kill For?

Deadline is reporting that Legendary Television has signed a deal with Frank Miller (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) to adapt his series of noir graphic novels, Sin City.

According to the terms of the agreement, Legendary guarantees a first season of the show, providing it finds itself a home with a network or streaming platform. The deal also specifies the production of a “hard R” animated series for a Sin City prequel based on Miller’s graphic novels.

Notably, the deal has Miller serving as executive producer, along with Robert Rodriguez, both of whom co-directed 2005’s Sin City film and its 2014 follow-up, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Miller won the film and TV rights for his Sin City comic as part of the $289 million sale of The Weinstein Co. and its holdings to Lantern Capital Partners. However, it’s not yet known if he or Rodriguez will direct episodes for the first season, should the project see the light of day.

Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Benicio del Toro, and Bruce Willis starred in the first Sin City movie, which featured Quentin Tarantino as a special guest director.
