So I swore I wasn’t going to review any more of this s-show but man. Just when you think they can’t go any lower, they find some room under the bar. She-Hulk season finale is here to prop up the eye-bleaching industry.
Seriously, how is it possible that a show already so bad could still s*** the bed for the ending?
She-Hulk writers, let me give you some little tips. The fourth-wall-breaking John Byrne did was a nice little bit of texture to his stories. He never USED THE F****** FOURTH WALL TO DEUS EX MACHINA THE ENTIRE STORY!
I’m not kidding. I don’t even mean the episode, I mean for the entire series. I know they thought they were being clever. And actually, the little parody of the original seventies show actually kinda worked. She-Hulk went all downhill from there. Seriously it went to pot like I’ve never seen.
All the loose plot threads were done away with in a photoshop session with the producer of the show, Kevin. No, not Kevin Feige. K.E.V.I.N, an AI that makes all of the MCU. Seriously, it was that stupid.
Just do a “find and replace” where all the bad stuff is and problem solved. This isn’t clever or cute or funny, this is the laziest writing I have ever seen in modern entertainment.
There was nothing of consequence. Is this what women really want? No consequences and magic away all their problems? Is this what smartphones and Instagram have done to them?
I’m honestly not certain how anyone with any semblance of talent thought this would work. I mean is Kevin Feige just sitting on an island somewhere counting his Infinity Saga money and just completely checked out? This is embarrassing.
I really don’t know how this much money was spent without wondering if there was some criminality involved. The only one I feel for is Tatiana Maslany. She’s genuinely a likable, good actor and doesn’t deserve this drek. My guess is the contract was airtight.
Death of the MCU? I don’t know. I was saying that about Star Wars but Andor is surprising me so I guess anything is possible. But something has got to change. Forget my disappointment and love of the characters and the typical anti-SJW criticisms I throw out. This will kill the company.
Believe it or not, I really don’t want Disney to fail as much as I don’t want them to succeed doing stuff like this. Disney is a great American entertainment company with a long and storied history with a mess of classics under its belt. These are bigger than the company itself but the company wipes its butt with everything people generally love about these stories and end up sullying them retroactively.
I’m not as mad as I am sad. As Theoden said in The Two Towers:
“How did it come to this?”
