Son of actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, Wyatt Russell has got big exposure for his role as John Walker, the new Captain America, in Falcon And The Winter Soldier. He has already built up a decent body of work like Lodge 49, Everybody Wants Some, The Good Lord Bird, and Overlord.

In an interview with Esquire, he was asked if he would ever consider taking on one of his father’s biggest roles. The long-gestating reboot of John Carpenter’s Escape From New York has Leigh Whannell attached as writer. Would Russell follow in his father’s footsteps?

“Although that’s very kind, that will not be happening. There will be no Snake reboot from me, that’s like career suicide 101. That’s like what not to do. I don’t know if anybody else could be Snake Plissken.

Good luck, go get ’em, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I just don’t know how it’s possible. And for me, if I really wanted to get people sending me hate mail, I think that’s what I should do. I will not be ever doing anything like that.”

He will next appear alongside Amy Adams in The Woman in the Window on Netflix. As comics fan knows, his character of US Agent continued after he lost the shield. That cameo in the last episode of Falcon And The Winter Soldier hinted at something worse than Hydra potentially coming down the tracks.
