“Give The People What They Want”

It’s being strongly rumoured today that Tom Hardy has been cast in the role of the legendary British secret agent, James Bond.

The actor, 43, has been one of the bookie’s favourites to become the next 007 in recent years, and rumours have been circulating he will step into Craig’s shoes after his fifth and final film, No Time To Die. Now, bookies have suspended betting which gives some credence to this rumour.

Uk tabloid The Daily Mail reports that they heard in June that Hardy had been offered the iconic part after a successful audition and that producers had planned to unveil Hardy as the new Bond in November, at the same month No Time To Die was due to be released.

However, due to the pandemic The Mail state the announcement will now be made later this year or early 2021.

The Peaky Blinders actor has made no secret about wanting to be the next 007 but has so far previously refused to talk about the part in fear it will get him blacklisted.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, Hardy said –

“If I mention it, it’s gone.”

“You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race.”

“So I can’t possibly comment on that one!”

Hardy is also happy to throw his support behind Tenet director Christopher Nolan, who has revealed he would be keen take over the franchise.

“Oh, wow, Chris would be amazing!”

“Wow, that would be cool. That would be so cool.”

Since the speculation began the likes of James Norton, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba have all been mentioned as possible replacements.

We’ll bring you more on this when we find out.
