Director Bong Joon-Ho is going to be making a new sci-fi movie called Mickey 17 to star Robert Pattinson. Joon-Ho is probably best known for Parasite, which won Best Picture, Best Director, Best International Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars in 2020.

According to the blurb the story is:

“Feature adaptation of the science fiction novel by Edward Ashton follows the story of Mickey 17, an “expendable,” who is a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.”

That sounds a bit like Moon with Sam Rockwell.

The cast for Mickey 17 is looking pretty good. Alongside Pattinson is Toni Collette, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, and Mark Ruffalo. It’s been written and directed by Joon-Ho, based on the book Mickey 17, by Edward Ashton. Warner Bros. shared a tweet, with a very short teaser about it.

It looks like it might be interesting. Mickey 17 is due for release 29th March 2024.
