Robert Eggers, known for The Witch and The Lighthouse, has his sights set on a remake of the 1922 horror classic Nosferatu.

Eggers, made his directorial debut with The Witch, which was also a debut for Anya Taylor-Joy. The film was initially premiered in Jan 2015 at the Sundance Film Festival, but us common people didn’t see it until March 2016.  It was made on a budget of about $4 mill, but took a gross of about $40 mill worldwide at the box office.

Taylor-Joy, is about to be seen in Last Night in Soho, under the direction of Edgar Wright and also as Furiosa in the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, by George Miller.

Nosferatu will be the third time Taylor-Joy and Eggers will have worked together. The Witch being the first and a movie that is in production at the moment, The Northman, due for release next year.

The Northman sounds interesting:

From acclaimed director Robert Eggers, The Northman is an epic revenge thriller that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father.

If you have seen Eggers other movies, you know he has a style about his work, but this sounds like an action movie. Maybe he’s taking a different direction?

It has an impressive cast, alongside Taylor-Joy is Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, Willem Defoe, Ethan Hawke, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie and Hafpr Julius (The Mountain) Bjornsson.

Spider-Man

I liked both The Witch and The Lighthouse and I like Eggers style, I think him doing Nosferatu might be interesting, what do you think?
