“Is It better To Be Feared Or Respected?”
Marvel Cinematic Universe legend Robert Downey Jr has discussed the possibility of returning to the superhero world as Iron Man.
He played the “genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist” in 10 separate MCU entries, before his character Tony Stark sacrificed himself in last year’s record-breaking blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.
Although he’s reprising his role in this year’s set-in-the-past Black Widow, fan theories around the world are speculating whether he’ll rejoin Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for a future mission.
Catching up with Extra TV recently alongside his wife Susan Downey, the actor was asked about the chances of Iron Man showing his mush again in the MCU. Admitting –
“Anything could happen,”
Before offering a more disappointing follow-up.
“As far as I’m concerned, I hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go. I also think that Marvel is on this journey now, they’re trying a bunch of other stuff and you know, I’m excited for them to see how all that goes.”
“It’s hard to project. But you know, we’ve got a bunch of other stuff [alluding to Dolittle].”
Black Widow is expected to drop this May.
