Actress Annie Wersching, best known for her roles on the television series Star Trek: Picard, 24, Bosch, and the voice of Tess in The Last Of Us, became an angel on Sunday morning following a two-year battle with cancer. She was 45.
Annie’s first credit was in Star Trek: Enterprise and she would go on to have recurring roles in the seventh and eighth seasons of 24, Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, The Rookie, and most recently, the second season of Star Trek: Picard as the Borg Queen.
Tributes poured forth from those who had worked with her on the long list of shows she appeared in. Kiefer Sutherland, star and executive producer of 24, remembered Wersching, a series regular on Seasons 7 and 8 of the real-time drama.
“The world lost a light today @Wersching was one of the greatest actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and my friend. My heart breaks for her young family. May she be remembered for the beautiful person that she was.”
Actress Jeri Ryan, best known as Seven of Nine said:
“What a beautiful, bright light we lost today. I’m so lucky to have had the chance to work and play with the incredible @anniewersching. My heart breaks for her beautiful family and everyone who was lucky enough to know her.”
Wersching’s husband, actor Stephen Full, said in a statement.
“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today, but she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for the adventure to find you.”
Annie is survived by her husband, Stephen, and three sons, Eddie, Ozzie and Archie, aged 12, 9, and 4.
What a depressing start to the week.
