Ryan Reynolds is apparently in talks to both star in and produce a live-action adaptation of Dragon’s Lair for Netflix.

The original video game was a relatively simple dodge and move concept but what set it apart was the movie quality graphics.  Animator Don Bluth went on to make All Dogs Go To Heaven and An American Tale mainly on he success of this game.  It was ported to countless consoles over the years with varying degrees of success.

In the game Dirk the Daring must rescue the beautiful Princess Daphne from the dragon known as Singe and the wizard Mordroc.

The negotiations have apparently been ongoing for more than a year.  Reynolds, Roy Lee, Trevor Engelson, Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and Jon Pomeroy are all producing.

Dan and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie) will write the script.
