Breaking news overnight, depending on where you are in the world. Two-time Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner has been airlifted to hospital and is in a critical but stable condition following a weather-related accident that took place on Sunday. A spokesperson says in a statement:
“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident whilst plowing snow earlier today. His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care.”
He was taken by helicopter from his house near Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe near Reno, Nevada. This has been one of the epicentres of the recent weather front to hit the US with 35,000 homes losing power among heavy snow.
Further details about the accident and his injuries have not yet been released. He is 51 years old.
Renner is obviously best known from the Marvel movies and Disney+ shows as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. He is rumored to be be returning for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
He scored two Oscar nominations for The Town and The Hurt Locker.
