We thought she might have died. Crushed beneath a collapsing temple after wreaking havoc across the multiverse. However, this is comics, and nobody is ever really gone in comics. Elizabeth Olsen says she doesn’t know if Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch will be back, but if she does then she wants a shot at redemption.
One of the more successful aspects of the post-Endgame MCU was how it showed a hero pushed to become a villain and to the brink of madness by several devastating events, then taken over the edge by the Darkhold. In an interview with ScreenRant she spoke about a potential return:
“We can do anything with her now. I feel like we’ve done so much. Now, we can really have fun; I feel like there’s a lot more humor to be had with her.”
She’s not talking like a dead woman, the multiverse is in full effect in the MCU and Kevin Feige has previously spoken about a number of Scarlet Witch stories he would like to tell. Newborn / Reborn White Vision is still out there too, flying around the MCU.
“She’s often the emotion of a story, and I’m curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully [we can] give her some redemption.”
WandaVision sequel/sidequel series Agatha: Coven of Chaos is preparing for production. Could we see her appear in that? Agatha herself is closely linked with Reed Richards and we know Fantastic Four is on the way.
