Netflix is no stranger to big movies now. Will Smith kind of led the way with Bright. Ryan Reynolds with Six Underground and Chris Hemsworth with Extraction followed up, and these all showed that what would have been a sizeable blockbuster with a cinematic release can still deliver the goods on the streamer. Next up is Red Notice and it’s big. Properly big.

With a budget of around $200 million, and starring three of the biggest stars in the world right now, Netflix is going for it with Red Notice. They already teased us a couple of months ago. Now there is a full trailer.

A Red Notice is a type of Interpol notice. An international alert circulated by Interpol to communicate information about crimes, criminals, and threats by police in a member state or by an authorized international entity such as an EU level notice, to their counterparts around the world.

The information disseminated via notices concerns individuals wanted for serious crimes, missing persons, unidentified bodies, possible threats, prison escapes, and criminals’ modus operandi.

The severity of the notices is color-coded by their severity: red, blue, green, yellow, black, orange, and purple. The best-known notice is the Red Notice which is the closest instrument to an international arrest warrant in existence.

Netflix’s version is an action and espionage thriller teaming Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot in a globe-trotting blockbuster. According to the blurb:

“A daring heist brings together the FBI’s top profiler (Johnson) and two rival criminals (Gadot, Reynolds) with different agendas who’re both after the same prize.”

Stuff will get blown up real good, no doubt while Johnson glares, Reynolds wisecracks, and Gadot smolders against the backdrop of exotic locations, lavish costumes, and gunplay. It will probably be big, dumb, and a lot of fun.

Johnson favorite Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote the story and directs. Red Notice is set for November 12th on Netflix.
