Red Notice is an action thriller comedy that will be coming to Netflix. It’s going to be starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.

Johnson took to Twitter on Thursday, announcing Red Notice would be premiering on Netflix on November 12 of this year. The contents of the tweet read:

You’re officially on notice,

“Netflix’s biggest movie ever #REDNOTICE premieres in your living rooms around the globe on NOV 12.”

Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote and directed Red Notice. He’s worked with Johnson a few times now, heading up movies such as Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. He’s also set to direct The Division, based off the video game of the same name. We also can’t forget his work on Dodgeball.

The movie’s synopsis reads:

In the world of international crime, an Interpol agent attempts to hunt down and capture the world’s most wanted art thief.

The Producers on Red Notice include Thurber, Beau Flynn for FlynnPictureCo and Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.

Red Notice was originally slated for a 2018 release after Universal won the bidding war for it. The auction climbed after the surprising success of Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which starred none other than Johnson and Kevin Hart. The movie raked in $963 million worldwide.

Of course, that never happened due to COVID causing theaters to close. The release was delayed by five months (that’s cute) and then finally sold off to Netflix. Even though the movie will no longer see the light of day (or darkness) in the theatre, Johnson and Gadot will still each earn a hefty paycheck of $20 million.
