Daniel Radcliffe transformed into Weird Al Yankovic in the first teaser trailer for Roku Original’s upcoming biopic, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, about the life of the satirical musician.
To be honest, he looks more like one of Harry Enfield’s Scousers, a cult classic comedy show in the UK from the 90s. And yes it’s true that sad, old, gits like me still quote catchphrases from the show.
You have to live here to appreciate it, but just so my American chums don’t feel left out, here’s the sort of thing that still makes us Brits crack up.
Back To Weird Al
Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time and has won five Grammy awards. His 2014 release Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at number one on US music chart Billboard’s Top 200.
Songs have included Michael Jackson Beat It parody Eat It, Like A Surgeon, a parody of Madonna’s classic Like A Virgin, and Whole Lotta Lunch, a parody of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love.
Yankovic previously said he was “thrilled” to be portrayed by Radcliffe and joked that the film would be,
“…the role future generations will remember him for.”
Check it out.
