Covid-19 Strikes Again
Fresh concerns over the spread of coronavirus have halted filming of the new Marvel series Falcon And The Winter Soldier.
The series, set to air on Disney+, has been filming in the Czech capital of Prague, but Variety has confirmed that the shoot has now been suspended. The shoot had previously been disrupted in during its location shoot in Puerto Rico after earthquakes struck in January.
Cast and crew from the series, which stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, have been recalled to the production base in Atlanta.
The Czech government has already banned all public events with an expected attendance of 100 people or more, including film screenings.
Only yesterday it was announced that the Prague International Film Festival will also be cancelled, and rescheduled for later in the year.
Last month, the shooting of the new Mission: Impossible movie was axed in Venice after the virus took hold in the Veneto and Lombardy regions of Italy.
The Paramount studio said that it was exercising ‘an abundance of caution’ in suspending the shoot at the time.
The whole of Italy is currently locked down, with most travel now banned and cases of the virus now topping 10,000.
